RBC Wealth Management Acquires $1.8 Billion Wisconsin Team

The deal with Visionary Wealth Management will make the 16-person team RBC's largest in the state.

Visionary Wealth Management, a Wisc.-based firm with $1.8 billion in managed assets will be joining RBC Wealth Management, making the team the largest RBC team in the state.

“What really attracted us to RBC Wealth Management is the firm’s commitment to a client-first and advisor-centric culture, which will allow us to serve the best interest of our clients,” said Michael Busick, a financial advisor and managing director at Visionary.

The 16-person team includes 11 financial advisors with more than 200 combined years in the industry, and is based in Green Bay, Wisc. RBC Wealth Management (which has about $389 billion in assets under management) opened their first branch in the state in Milwaukee in late 2019; in all, RBC has more than 2,000 financial advisors at 170 locations throughout 42 states. RBC Wealth Management President Tom Sagissor said the firm’s culture and the strength and stability of RBC helped to empower advisors.

RBC has made a number of acquisitions in recent months, including a massive partnership in December with two veteran UBS advisors in California who collectively managed more than $7.5 billion in client assets (the division also opened a Marin County branch in September of last year). In September of 2018, RBC Wealth Management (which is based in Canada) launched a multi-million dollar advertising campaign in the United States to help boost their brokerage business stateside.
