Advisor Group Builds Out Leadership With Two New Hires

Dimple Shah will join as Executive Vice President or Corporate Strategy and Iryna Northrip will come onboard as CCO, Investment Strategy, according to the network of independent wealth management firms.

Advisor Group is adding two industry vets to its leadership roster, with Dimple Shah joining as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Iryna Northrip as Chief Compliance Officer, Investment Strategy.

Advisor Group is the country’s largest network for independent wealth management firms (including Securities America, SagePoint Financial, FSC Securities and others), and has about 10,100 financial advisors managing more than $515 billion in assets. CEO Jamie Price lauded the two new hires, saying he was thrilled to welcome both Shah and Northrip to the company’s leadership team.

“Expanding our ability to serve our advisors and their clients by bringing in top talent is a critical component of our strategy,” Price said. “For the last two years, we’ve been hiring across the organization adding new leaders and fresh perspectives to Advisor Group.”

Shah, one of our "Ten to Watch" in 2019, joined the company late last month and will help lead Advisor Group’s growth strategy. She has more than two decades of experience in designing corporate strategies, and came to Advisor Group from Cielo Advisor, an independent strategy consulting firm where she served as managing principal; while there, she helped develop Advisor Group’s strategic plan.

Shah previously served as Head of Corporate Strategy for LPL Financial, along with leadership roles at Oliver Wyman/Marsh & McLennan Cos., Hewlett Packard and PayPal. When she was at LPL in 2019, WealthManagement.com named her one of the “10 to Watch” for the year. She holds a Bachelors in economics from Stanford and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Northrip begins her role today and will manage compliance in investment advisory portfolios throughout the firm’s network. She’s joining Advisor Group from her previous role as Vice President, Regulatory Counsel and CCO at Mariner Wealth Advisors, and previously had roles at Bryan Cave and Deutsche Bank; she holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from International Christian University in Kyiv, Ukraine, as well as Masters of Finance from Albert-Ludwig's University in Freiburg, Germany and a law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City’s School of Law.

Greg Cornick, Advisor Group’s President, Advice and Wealth Management, said Shah and Northrip were indicative of the “high caliber of talent” the network of firms was attracting.

“Evolving our corporate strategy and fostering a culture of compliance to enable growth are key elements to our strategy and we’re thrilled to have two wonderful leaders like Dimple and Iryna blazing that path for us,” he said.

Last week, the alternative investments platform CAIS reached a deal with Advisor Group to offer its advisors a customized version of its platform. According to CAIS, the tailored version for Advisor Group will enable the firm to manage user access and product permissions based on FINRA licenses and roles, and firm advisors will have access to certain products only after completing mandatory coursework within CAIS IQ, a personalized learning system.
