SMArtX Adds COO, Seeks Enterprise Clients

The firm is hiring personnel with technological know-how as it focuses on adding enterprise business.

SMArtX Advisory Solutions added a new executive to its C-suite, with the appointment of Jonathan Pincus as chief operating officer and president, according to the company. Pincus was previously senior vice president and global head of investment operations for Northern Trust’s asset management division.

"We are pleased to welcome Jonathan to the SMArtX leadership team and fortunate to have someone of his caliber steering this critical function across our business," SMartX CEO Evan Rapoport said in a statement. "Jonathan’s deep domain expertise in banking, innovation, and large-scale deployment makes him the perfect person for the role.” Pincus will be vital to the company’s focus on enterprise business and technology development, he added.

Earlier this year, SMArtX closed a $4 million round of venture funding, which the firm has earmarked for enterprise tools for its registered investment advisor and independent broker/dealer clients. The firm is intent on developing fully customized managed account tech and expects Pincus’ familiarity with fintech, based on board-level advisory positions, to position him as a leader in his new role.
