Brokerage Trio Managing $235 Million Joins Raymond James

The three advisors at Patton Wealth Management have more than 65 years of industry experience.

A trio of brokers previously employed by a wirehouse have left to join Raymond James Financial Services, the firm’s independent broker/dealer.

Advisors David Patton, Miles O’Mailia and Theresa Cooper, who were previously managing $235 million at Merrill Lynch, left to form Patton Wealth Management, according to a statement from Raymond James.

The group will continue to operate out of Maumee, Ohio, a city just outside Toledo. Like many advisors who seek out the independent channel, the group said being able to offer client-centric advice was one of the reasons it chose to join Raymond James, which is on track to have another record year recruiting advisors.

Among others this summer, the firm has recruited a pair of brokers in Santa Rosa, Calif., managing $462 million and four groups in Georgia managing an aggregate of more $550 million.

“At Raymond James, when we try to get something done for our clients, we don’t receive an automatic “no.” Management and home office staff work with us to explore all capabilities and services,” said Patton, the managing director at Patton Wealth Management.

The three advisors have more than 65 years of combined industry experience and work with high-net-worth families, businesses and foundations.
