Comings & Goings: June 2012

Star advisor Erin Botsford, who leads a Frisco, Texas-based team with $560 million in assets, has jumped ship from Dewaay Financial Network to LPL Financial. Botsford, the author of The Big Retirement Risk: Running Out of Money Before You Run Out of Time, specializes in asset protection strategies, having developed the investing approach Lifestyle Driven Investing.

Raymond James & Associates picked up a $1.7 million team in Denver, Colo., including John Nice, Brian Trujillo, Steven Ringquist, and Bradley Trujillo. The Nice Group joined from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, where they managed more than $220 million in assets.

Ron Joelson, chief investment officer of Genworth Financial, has left to join Northwestern Mutual in a similar role. Joelson succeeds Mark Doll, who’ll retire after 40 years with the firm. Meanwhile, Genworth has tapped Daniel Sheehan IV to replace Joelson. Sheehan was previously serving as senior vice president of asset management at Genworth. In the wake of the recent resignation of Genworth’s CEO Michael Fraizer, the firm named Martin Klein, chief financial officer, to replace him.
