is it just me or does the recruiting process for the brokerage business take an inordinate amount of time? My experience has been with the major wirehouses only.

Did you think they would sign you up today?  Remember, you’re going into an industry where you will only make it if you are persistent and patient and willing to pester a prospect for months to become a client.

absolutely not - but it seems silly to extend the process just to extend the process. Already they are going to make you wait on production for up to 3-4months to get licensed tack on another 3-4 months to get hired and you are taking an insanely long time.

I totally get that prospecting/production takes time and that’s why I rather get started sooner than later.

please explain the difference between the recruiting process and hiring process

Pennypacker…the process does take time, that is what it is. I would also suggest that given the current state of flux many firms are reviewing their respective new hiring. Just an observation.
