What do VARIABLE ANNUITY Wholesalers make when a FA sells their company’s variable annuity product. For example, if you sold a $500,000 annuity to MetLife with a 6% up front and 1% trail at year 4…how much does the wholesaler make on you bringing in the $500,000? I’ve always been curious about this.

thks[/quote] Very easy answer. Eleventy kabillion dollars.Why don't you call your wholesaler and ask? While they seem to sometimes be vague about the way they get paid, I'm sure a direct question would get you the answer you're looking for.
Congrats on a great ticket. $30K gross upfront and then, if we assume no market growth, another $35K through year 10. Not a bad way to make a living.
