I posted this a while back and never heard anything -- anybody have some insight?  I've read that they hire 200 or so a year, and in most cases to work with Senior Partners.

Why don't you walk in and ask them?  They're just people with goals and roadblocks too. Nobody here is going to be able to guess what's going on with your local office.
