I am currently working with AG Edwards and being a year in, I like it there.  I recently received a call from Jones wanting me to take over an office and the existing book. I am wondering if this is something that I should pursue or if I should stay where I am at.  Anybody that could help me point out the pros and cons of either staying or leaving would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

gecko

It all depends on the history of the book they are offering.

If you are inheriting assets from someone that is retiring or staying at Jones, but going elsewhere in the company, it could be a great deal.

If you are taking over an office where the previous broker left for another B/D or an office where the previous broker failed and you will be Jones broker number 6, it is a crappy deal.
