Series 66 with STC materials

Taking this test with essentially a zero fail possibility. Anyone that has taken this test recently and used these materials please point out areas of emphasis for the test. Any help is appreciated.
Used Training Consultants for my series 66 today and got 89%. Just follow the advice of the trainer and you will pass it easy!
Congratulations! So how would you describe the exam prep with Training Solutions compared to the actual test? Please fill us in. I am about to buy it to start training for my 66 now.
(FYI, Several in my office and complex failed the first time using Fire Solutions & STC. However, they are still too cheap to buy TS. Merrill thinks that Fire Solutions has such a high pass rate, but what they don't know is that everyone stops using it and switches to another provider like TS or Kaplan).
I am not aware of all the types of study programs. Hopefully we are talking about the same one. I used "Training Consultants" Series 66 online study course (along with the manual).
After studying for about 5 days, and then taking their practices tests (5 of them) I then proceeded to take the real exam. I would say their practice tests were about dead even with the real thing. (If not a little harder).
If someone follows their program, and does exactly what the instructor says on the video, I see No Way in the world how anyone would fail. (unless they are just not cut out for this type of test, etc)
Good luck on whatever path you choose :)
Thanks so much for the insight. I am sticking with Training Consultants then. I am almost done with their Series 7 material and now that you confirmed that they are dead on for the Series 66, I am sold. Best wishes.
Another colleague passed the 66 with Training Consultants with a score of 87. He used STC the first time and failed with a score in the 60's. STC just gave too much information. He mentioned that the Series 66 Exam questions were almost exactly the same as the TC practice final exam. Also, his Series 66 exam score came with in one point of the final exam on TC.
Using STC and the qbank from kaplan.....great, this just made me more nervous...Anyway, do any of you know if Dodd-Frank was tested on the 66? Better yet, will any of you share a practice test or 2 from TC? Looking for all the help I can get.... Thanks Guys.
I'm not sure that much of the 66 has ever played into an investment recommendation. But....given the amount of secondary research I read and apply, I see the value if some sort of "screen" that admits folks who can read lots of mundane stuff, put it together, then get a passing score. You could probably accomplish the same thing with a test on "Idaho history" or "environmental regulations of the Carter administration."
Another colleague failed the 66 today by 2 points by exclusively using Firesolutions.
I took a multiple choice test in statistics once. Every single answer but 1 was C). It was maddening.
I have met at least 3 people that have used Training Consultants and passed on the first attempt. The book is only 125 pages, but the course material is just what you need to know to pass. I just took the Series 66 today and passed on the first attempt with an 87%. About 25 questions were almost identical. The rest of the material was what I needed to know.
So, I can't recommend them enough. I hope that it helps.
I have been reading these posts and they have been helpful. I work for ML so I used Fire for the 7 and they were ok. I used them for the 66 and that did not work. I got a low 70 on the first attempt. I just re-took the exam and got in the 80s. I used Fire for the back-bone, but I also bought the tests from TC. I took over 20 finals, and it sure did help. I would highly recommend them. I also bought Empire's book and Walker's book. Both were ok. The best bang for the buck was the TC exam bank. I highly recommend it. The random finals were awesome, because there were always new questions. If I ever have to take another one of these awful tests--I will use TC.
