From pharma to fa questions

hey guys, <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
i've been in pharma sales for about 6 years now and i'm thinking of switching industries.
please wait before you start the bashing...
from what i've read and my general interest in the market and economy, i think a position as a FA would fit. ive talked to recruiters and hiring managers thus far and their always eager to blow smoke...
my real question is 1st, 2nd and 3rd year real $$ expectations? how much can a newbie really expect.
i'm not talking about the top or bottom 10%. i have no problem putting in the hours, work, phone calls, door knocking, studying etc.
the thought of an uncapped structure is extremely appealing and i know it wont be easy. i currently bring in between $75 - 90 a year and i'll be honest, the financial uncertainty is my major concern. i've been contacted by EJ and MSSB thus far.
EJ told me $55,000 - MSSB told me $120,000 Sound right?
Since you are already comfortable going to a doctor’s office and giving them a script, I would choose MSSB and make doctor’s your target market.
As for $$ expectations, you can make any of those numbers.
No… First year Jones(if they still have those bonuses) $45-60K… MSSB will be a tad higher because their salary is higher, so $65-80K… But there will be a bigger drop off the second year when the salary disappears.
My guess is you won't touch $90K at jones until year 4-6.. Why would you leave(forced) a position where you make $90K, to a position where you make $0..?Talk to MBA2FA and ask him what he thinks. He was a pharma sales person and was looking to choose between EJ and MSSB
This is my first year coming from pharma. I have made $70k so far this year at WFA. Get out of pharma while the getting is good! The sooner you start building your book in this industry, the better off you’ll be. Good Luck!
I think it would be awesome to be able to start in this industry with the relationships you have established with Doctors.Since you are already comfortable going to a doctor’s office and giving them a script, I would choose MSSB and make doctor’s your target market.

Is it true that most female pharm reps have nice racks?
Why is it that every sales field but ours attracts hot women?
We had a few very attractive girls in my KYC group. I don’t know how many are left at this point but they were still there for eval/grad.
That’s not true, about not attracting hot women, I’ve seen a number of good looking wholesalers around - also usually the marketing department has some.

I don’t know about most, but my sister in law is a pharm rep and although she is a cutie, she has mosquito bites.
Did you?We had a few very attractive girls in my KYC group. I don’t know how many are left at this point but they were still there for eval/grad.
My fiance works in pharma sales. There's no doubt they choose looks first, brains later. Whenever we go on a quota trip, I feel like I'm vacationing with the "Zoolander" model squad. The funny part is that these trips are reserved for the top performers! Windy's digital vibrator has more intelligence than this group of savy motivated personel. She has a degree in business/marketing from a reputable school, but any conversation regarding science/drugs and you think you're talking to Jessica Simpson on mushrooms. Yet her and her partner are somehow ranked very highly in the country each year. I love the girl to death, but I shadowed surgeons/physicians as an intern for 2 years in University, and my guess is that her skinny 5'9", blonde hair, big rack stature might have something to do with her success......or it could be the bagels and cupcakes she takes to her physicians.
Like I said: love her to death and she’s a business woman…but science and discussing the benefits of a drug are not her forte. She knows that, and we laugh about it every day. But she gets paid well and she enjoys it!
Did you?
Despite mlgone's ridiculous assertions, I am a chick, so, no, I didn't.
We had a few very attractive girls in my KYC group. I don’t know how many are left at this point but they were still there for eval/grad.
