Look, the Series 7 is an IQ test.

Imagine … this whole thread started with Ron being a prick to someone on a “rookie” thread talking about passing the 7.  What a bunch of assholes. Since you guys are so advanced why do you troll around here pikers?

Voltmoie, just because your boyfriend held a party for you when you passed the 7 and now someone has disagreed with its value as an accomplishment ,doesn’t make it less of one in your mind. I understand for you and wind it is the single greatest accomplishment in your life to this point and that is great. Rock on ! You are awesome ! You wouldn’t be so defensive about my simple comment “who cares” if you weren’t overrating its difficulty.

Actually, outside of Windy and possibly yourself, Jones doesn’t hire many total strokes. All in all they hire solid people. I am not giving you my phone number, if I do you will call me every month for 5 years trying to sell me a 30 yr Corporate Bond. The best part is, now that I have left Jones, I DO HAVE THE MONEY AVAILABLE.

I was using the numbers to defend the fact that I was not fired, I resigned. I am 3 years into this business and I have a lot to learn. I don't have the answers you have.

I agree with Ron. Series 7 is a pathetic attempt to weed out idiots. The exam is weak. You don’t learn anything. It’s like seeing how many pushups and situps you can do and think that that will physically prepare you for combat.



Think about how many morons you have met in this industry (me included… see name Moraen). They all passed the 7.

It may be an accomplishment to you, but to me it was a roadblock that needed to be removed. Try taking level I of the CFA, fail it. Then pass it. THAT is an accomplishment.



I actually did celebrate when I finished Eval/Grad as gay as that is.



Volt - I’m glad you are proud. But don’t make it out to be something it’s not.



And I’m glad Dianna passed. She seems like a good egg. But don’t for one minute pretend like it means anything.

It meant everything for her the day she took and passed it.  It means nothing the next day.  No reason for Ron to be an ahole about it.

I was excited the day I passed it - can’t even remember my score now.  Didn’t celebrate Eval/Grad though but did have a good time.  Mostly the beer at night.
