Well I’m working on getting my u4 done, and we’ve run into a bit of a glitch.  I got popped when I was 15 for something stupid, a felony actually, but since I was a good kid save being dumb once, the charges were dropped…  No trouble in the last 12 years, but my juvie record was destroyed by the state, so aside from a document saying I have no record, I can’t prove it was dropped…  I don’t suppose any of you have insight as to whether this will bar me from being registered do you?  (I do still have an arrest record for it)

It depends…FINRA frowns upon murder and money laundering.

it was neither… I basically had a model rocket aka an ‘explosive device’ at school… stupid kid stuff…

Wow, whatever happened to detention?  Instead it's a felony...

I think you'll be fine.  It's probably not even on your record.  Just my guess.   You could always try to get arrested right now and you'll probably find out from your lawyer if the model rocket incident is on your record or not.

Hey I am not sure but this link may help you:

As I have understood it…you are not required to fill the bubble saying you were convicted (because you were not and the charges were dropped) but you do have to fill the one saying you were charged…regardless

Now if it is a misdemeanor then the rules change…but that doesn’t seem to be your case

I could be off base…but I don’t think that I am–hope this helps

Just a quick follow- (I was sorta in the same boat so I have been looking this stuff up)

Expungement is often equated to the
sealing or destroying of legal records. Each state offers its own
definition of expungement, based on different rules and laws.
Generally, expungement can be viewed as the process to “remove from
general review” the records pertaining to a case. But the records may
not completely “disappear” and may still be available to law
enforcement.

With limited exception, you may thereafter truthfully state that you
were never arrested, charged, or accused of a crime. In the eyes of the
law, the entire incident never occurred. In most respects, a sealing or
expungement restores you to the status you occupied before being
arrested or charged. You should be aware that the federal government need not honor the
expungement, nor does an expungement of a conviction necessarily
relieve a person from having to disclose it in an application for
public office or on some professional license applications.

I would err on the side of caution…that doesn’t seem like something that would bar them from approving you…but you can always chance it…If you know for fact that no record of it exists then do not say anything…not sure if this help you but hope it does

Eh, I do have an arrest record, so I know that there is info out there about it.  I didn’t think to fill in that I was charged because I really didn’t think of it like that.  I don’t remember the situation all that well, it was pretty traumatic.  The compliance dept caught it and we’ve been working on it… I’m just scared.

My dad whippin me a good one, having to pick up trash at school for a month, and being shut away from society.  But mostly I remember the corporal punishment.

…I didn’t listen well enough to my mom apparently…
