I am currently a new financial advisor working in the Anchorage, Ak market. I don't have many clients so far. I am looking at moving to the Portland, OR area. Any one from that area? What type of opportunites is everyone seeing? econmoic conditions?
What firm are you with? Why do you think it will be easier to get clients in Portland vs. Anchorage?
Do you know a boat load of people in Portland? If you are moving there with no market, I would be hesitant, unless you're an animal at building relationships and bringing in money. And, start leaning liberal, start smoking weed, buy a bicycle to ride to work, enjoy getting bent over on taxes, get a girlfriend with hairy legs/arm pits, don't shave, and you'll fit right in.
