Aren’t there any investment bankers around here?
IB’s work about 120 hours a week. They don’t have much time to
post. Fortunately for us we’re not allowed to do our job after 9
PM.
Plus, this IS a forum for brokers.

Oh excuse me. Cos I could’ve sworn this was for registered reps …
My mistake.
Ronin,
My friend worked at Deutsche Bank as an analyst for about 4 years. He got a cushy job in Manhattan, was paid about 170K in salary and bonus in his first year, about 260K by the third, worked about 100-110 hours per week, was treated like $hit by his superiors, lived off his corporate car service and expense account for meals, had no social life, lived in NY and had no time to enjoy it, and basically was miserable by the end... IB, depending on your sitaution, is a horrible existence for the first few years. Those who survive eventually make an extremely nice living, but your sacrifices are harsh...
Blarmston, couldn’t agree with you more … and for a minute there, I
thought you were describing me except that I didn’t work at Deutsche
… and I guess I was fortunate enough to work in a small “special
forces” team within a big firm that, while error was never an option,
treated each other like family from Managing Director down to Analyst.
I’ve since made my way to a westcoast boutique and in addition to being
just a stone’s throw from the beach, I lead an otherwise very laid back
lifestyle … so while those war stories are all true … there are
other stories that are not so gory.

Only a ptuz would buy a Ferrari in a color OTHER than the red god intended them to be.

So then the big decision is whether to go with the F1-style paddle shifter or the 6-speed gated transmission.
I'd opt for the 6 speed...
I’ll take the new 612 Scaglietti in black, just like my neighbor… paddle
shifters of course.
