I scored an 82.4% using Kaplan and Boston (2006), I studied intensely for about 3 weeks. A few days ago I ran through all the chapter quizzes on the Boston Instutite practice CD and scored 82.8% over 780 questions.
I did not have a test CD for Kaplan, but I used to book for reading, I probably spent most of my time taking the tests on the CD and reading the explanations for understanding. The boston book and CD has way too many typos, sometimes suggesting the wrong answer, or having numbers that are off. Infact, during the test I recognized one of the questions from the CD, only without typos on the answer. I'm not sure what recommendations I would give, but really making sure you have a test CD and are practicing with it frequently would be very helpful, especially one with useful explanations, not just simply rephrasing the correct answer. Also, one other fact, the test results said that 66% candidates pass, and that 73% is the average score.Congrats. Don’t slack on the 66, which I assume you’re taking next. It’s obviously smaller but you need to tackle it with the same drive since it’s a little more “vague” in material.
Congrats friend, follow Ferris B’s advice but if I find you knocking on my GF’s door you are in for trouble!!!
Congrats on passing the 7.
I studied with EDJ and didn’t use any other materials. Their training was on-the-ball and got me a nice phat 73%.
(I would’ve had 74% except for that one darn question that went " one of the questions I got on the exam was
worded wrong saying “you have shares $500” which make no sense. What
should I do?!")
Congrats on passing the test.
I took mine this morning and I also passed!! Yahoo!!! I ended up with a 91.6% and I’m glad to be done with it and ready to move on to the next challenge.
Good luck with your career!!
Go Red Sox!
Congrats!
