Is Edward Jones the best firm to work for?

I’ve read a lot lately that Edward Jones is the best firm to work for. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Sorry I’m new to these boards and apologize if I’m stepping on anyone’s toes.
I can confirm that this is absolutely incorrect. JT Marlin has it beat hands down. Would you rather go to a weekend regional with your wife or snort blow off a hookers chest in a limo ride to a casino ?I’ve read a lot lately that Edward Jones is the best firm to work for. E.D. Jones is by far the best! Didn’t you hear??? The rip on AIVSX is now three dollars…
If you enjoy door knocking, don’t like working with other people, and want to work out of your home/in an office by yourself…Then EDJ is a great fit for you
Spiff will tell you its the best for him. Since he hasn’t been anywhere else he’s more than qualified to answer on behalf of all new brokers entering the industry.

Just trying to inject a little humor. Can’t you see the emoticon. Cmon man…lighten up. It could be worse…you could be indy.
Indy's not worse. You being my branch manager would be worse. - emoticon for sarcasm.
Already have enough headaches. If I had to kick your ass to go prospect everyday, you know babysit you to do your job, that would drive me insane. I have no patience for reps that don't do the work.
You wouldn't make it through the behaivorial interview process.no. unless you can deal with sitting in a 1 man office for the rest of your life
Funny...you say it like it's a BAD thing.....I think that's what I like about EDJ....Other than RR I don't have any other distractions! Some people don't want an office full of vultures circling over you waiting for you to fail so they can pick at the bones!no. unless you can deal with sitting in a 1 man office for the rest of your life

And that right there is the difference that sparks so much controversy. Some people like it, some people don't. I have a lot of fun with my co-workers every day and would be bored out of my mind if i worked for EJ. But that's just me. I know EJ is a good company. And i don't have any vultures, just motivation to make more calls myself so i can put the guy at the desk next to me out of a job...your either the sheep or the wolf!
It was depressing to see the newest Payout comparison of all the wires and major regionals at OnWallStreet.com. Jones was best at the 200K production level, and worst at almost every other level. Tough part is that it’s based on 2009 numbers, so the low profit bonus numbers really shined through. However, in good years, Jones is near the top in all production levels due to the bonus.
If they had only included the value of the trips, the picture would eb very, very different. As mentioned earlier, JT Marlin is by far the best firm out there. You WILL make your first million dollars within 3 years of working there. ED Jones… Not so sure.
