Did anyone see this?

It worked for me. While I think Cramer is a donk in general, many of our clients watch him regularly and this certainly won’t be bad for our reputation. Personally, I never use those ETFs anyway!
I just thought it was interesting, considering Jones doesn’t do much advertising and they aren’t talked about a whole lot on tv. This is definitely something that might help Jones FA’s, since alot of regular folks watch the guy.
You have to take the edwardjones out of the front of the link…
On the subject… yeah that is what I want clients who listen to Cramer…
Ok. I just watched the video.
Jones guys, were EJ reps ever allowed to sell Short ETFs? I would think they weren’t, but I could be wrong.
I know a couple guys that did. I think it is the same gig as those that short sell, it is possible, but you better be ready for the compliance swat team to storm your office and block off a day to talk to them to answer for it.Ok. I just watched the video.

I thought they could sell the shorts, just not the ultras… Compliance will look the other way if its A shares funds
Nope, I've seen the 3x ultrashort.I thought they could sell the shorts, just not the ultras… Compliance will look the other way if its A shares funds
LOL…you guys could put a bad spin on a wet dream! Whether we like it or not, all of our clients watch Cramer. Some put more credence in what he says than others, but he is on CNBC and people watch it. I think after his stint with Jon Stewart he lost some of his luster with the average Joe Investor, but he still pulls the ratings.
THIS must be why Jones wants the new FAs to bring the laptops to the cold knocks. No longer do we have to present ourselves, as long as the HH has wireless internet I can let Cramer do the selling for me!
You've obviously never met our compliance officers. Since ETFs don't sell in classes, no good argument there. So, in this particular case, you're just flat wrong. I've never sold any of them. Short, ultra, or otherwise. I'm not sure I even know of anyone in my region who did. My phone hasn't been ringing off the hook with people wanting to move their money from anywhere based on something Cramer said. While I agree wholeheartedly with his fine assessment of our firm (), I don't know that I want people who routinely watch Cramer as clients.I thought they could sell the shorts, just not the ultras… Compliance will look the other way if its A shares funds
Spiff that was my point, that no one wants clients that listen to that guy…
A shares on short funds is what i meant… but thanks for letting me know about the shares classes on etfs, i guess i am going to have to dump my C share etfs
Spiff, Just in case they do call, PM me… Money and a pulse, heck half the reason I took this job is to help people from poor financial direction. I have no qualms spending a little bit of extra time and effort to manage the assets of the cnbc/cramer/money mag crowd.
Every single old person I deal with watches some form of cable news for HOURS a day. Those idiots (cramer included) demagogue issues to death which makes our jobs all that harder.
Thanks for posting, those were some good things to hear about EDJ. Wonder now if the clowns in St. Louis will stop bitching about Cramer? That's all I heard last time I was there from the GPs - it felt like penis envy since all those guys are about 5' 5".
