Can I take the 66 without the 7?

I am planning on taking the 66 in the next couple months, but before I pay for the training and commit to studying, I was wondering if I can take the series 66 without having my series 7 or having any plans too ( I will at some point in the future). I am only 18 and in college and have no need for a 7 nor a firm to sponsor me. Im planning on just getting my 66 for now to help me get some internships.
if i am not mistaken… you need the 7 before the 66. but i could be wrong or there could be loopholes.
I finished the 66 6 weeks ago and am taking the 7 tomorrow. You can do but I do not recommend it. Things that you master in the 7 are touched on in the 66. Doing it backwards caused me to learn things twice.
