What is everyone’s thoughts on cold door knocking businesses?  Is it better to lead with a phone call and let them know next time your in the area you’ll stop by or just go for it and stop by?

Not talking about mom & pop retailers … but a little larger businesses.

I’ve been stopping by with different amounts of luck. Mostly good but want to be better!

There is no reason for this to be an either/or proposition.

If you are in your office making phone calls, call. If you have an appointment at 123 Grant Street, stop in the offices/businesses in the neighborhood.    When you make a phone call and you can't get an appointment, don't let that stop you from cold walking the same person.  When you can't see a person on a cold walk, don't let that stop you from cold calling.
