I used to work for Edward Jones in their home office. I will just say that I share many of your negative feelings toward that firm.

I am going back to graduate school full time, and while I don't intend to work in the securities industry again, I don't want to let my registrations expire.

I affiliated with that Primerica group just to keep my license in force, but they are a very poorly run organization, to say the least.

I am looking for a normal B/D that I can affiliate with, that will let me just park my licenses there, have me pay all of the fees involved, and not bother me about lack of production, etc.

I would never sell anything Primerica offers, but I don't mind the idea of affiliating with a group that would let me be "part time" and see what I want to who I want in the future.

Any ideas?

You're going to get your head kicked in on this forum for using the phrase "park my licenses".  No firm should allow this as it is illegal/unethical to do so.  The fact tha Primerica is allowing you to do so speaks volumes about their problems.  Frankly, if you "...don't intend to work in the securities industry again...", let your licenses go, and move on.

I understand you aren't supposed to park a license with no production. That's why I want to find somewhere to go in order to generate at least some business.

Sorry if I offended you somehow. It was not my intention. Just looking to preserve the registrations as a "plan B" should I desire getting back into the business.

Nah, I’m not offended…just didn’t understand your question.  You’re looking for part-time production, not license parking.  There are firms that take part-timers, I just can’t remember firm names, so perhaps someone else can drop a couple of possibilities here.

Put your info on there, you'll find plenty of smaller independent BD's without production requirements that will take you on.

I’ve heard that World Financial Group will let you do that.  Its a pyramid scheme company, but you don’t have to sell anything to stay with them.

Quest Capital allows you to work part-time. Their (not there or they’re) website is www.qcwelcome.com . I have no relationship with them, so I can’t offer an opinion on the firm. I think radarnation works with them. You might PM him/her.
