Maybe someone can answer this…I have two interviews next week and would like to know if a personal bankruptcy is an obstacle to getting hired as a rep.  I want to be ready if asked because from what I understand it has to be disclosed…thanks

It’s a big obstacle.  However, not disclosing it will guarantee that you won’t get the job or will get fired once they find out.

It was related to a foreclosure on an investment property that went really sour.  Had no choice.  If it means anything the only creditor that got hurt was the mortgage bank.  Didn’t affect the others.

I have spoke to several firms about this.  If you disclose it and they like you, and do well on the interviews.  you should be able to get the job.  keep in mind it is illegal for an employer to discriminate against a bankruptcy.
