Auto Insurance: MA to KY Laws
18 RepliesJump to last post
I recently moved to KY from MA.
In MA, I had an incident in a winter snow storm where my vehicle skidded off the road, was damaged, claim filed, and my insurer issued repair payments. I appealed all surcharges, won the appeal, the decision was overturned, I received surcharge points and extra charges in premium credited back to my account. Claim was closed. In KY, I'm looking to convert my auto policy. All the quotes I'm receiving are at least 2x or more than what I'm currently paying in premium. I was told that KY doesn't care about the ruling in MA, and the fact that the incident shows on my record means they automatically assume I'm at fault and factor that into the quote. I was also told rates are higher here than MA, but this 1 incident is a major contributor to the increased premium. I have 2 questions: 1.) If I submit documentation to KY Dept. Motor Vehicles, will they take this off my record? 2.) Am I able to stay insured under my MA policy while living in KY? The insurer has my current address. THANKS!This is related to being a RR how? I am a smart ass. Where can I get the best deal on new tires? Anybody know?
Someone please prove that you're not all the same....This is related to being a RR how? I am a smart ass. Where can I get the best deal on new tires? Anybody know?
Smart ass I am. However, I do know you won’t get a car insurance questions answered here. Call the Gecko and save 15%. We don’t do no stinkin’ car insurance here as RR’s. Primo, if you find a good place for tires, let me know too!
You must be a big baller, Mr. Registered Rep! Lookout, everyone, "[...] they don't do no stinkin' car insurance here." Thanks for the help, asshole.Smart ass I am. Someone please prove that you're not all the same....
I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of posters are the same... they are RR's. Again, what does this have to do with being a RR?
This is related to being a RR how? I am a smart ass. Where can I get the best deal on new tires? Anybody know?
In all seriousness, do you really think anyone on this board has auto insurance expertise? It’s like going to a Krispy Kreme for diet advice.
I have 2 questions:

BUT, if you call the KY Dept. of Motor Vehicles, the chances of finding someone who has knowledge about the KY Dept. of Motor Vehicles greatly increases.
(Edit: I'm not sure why this posted the same message 3 times, but it did)
Eat balls.This is hilarious!
I may be able to help though. If you get in a wreck in KY your MA insurance will: 1)Drop you like a Cincinnatti Bengal drops a pass 2)Not pay any damages 3)Beat the hell out of your record I know from personal experience, not KY and MA but it's probably the same deal everywhere.Sorry ice, i’m a realist! haha
Maybe Ocho Cinco and the gang can pull it out next year
