Since June, the Morgan Stanley Dean Witter name has been official and it is now being used for all the firms products and services.
Even though Morgan Stanley merged with Dean Witter more than a year ago, regulatory hurdles have delayed formal use of the new name for marketing purposes, according to a spokesperson. Now, however, virtually every product will carry the full Morgan Stanley Dean Witter name.
The Morgan Stanley Dean Witter brand name will be used across the wide array of products and services available exclusively from our firm, says the firm in a statement. The name will be attached to its broker/dealer and fund products, as well as distribution, pension and trust services.
Morgan Stanley Dean Witter previously managed funds under the Dean Witter InterCapital name, as well as under the Morgan Stanley and Van Kampen names. The Van Kampen brand will remain separate.
In July, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter renamed its 10,650 registered representatives to financial advisers from account executives. Financial adviser, the firm says, more fully reflects the value he or she brings to the investment process.
