Featuring illustrator C.F. Payne, columnists Kevin McKinley and Anne Field, and new senior editor Jerry Gleeson.

Jerry Gleeson joined Registered Rep. magazine as senior editor in January of this year. Gleeson is a business journalist whose reporting on mutual funds and investor losses has won awards from the New York State Associated Press and the New York State Publishers Association. Gleeson earned a B.A. in history from SUNY at Oneonta, and after graduation he got his first job at the local newspaper. He also earned an M.B.A. from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University, and completed 180 hours of course work in the Certified Financial Planner program. His bicycle tours have taken him to many places in the United States and Canada. He writes in this issue about his experience taking the CFP exam last November.

Anne Field is an award-winning journalist who has covered management, entrepreneurship, and other business issues for?such web sites and publications as The New York Times, CNNMoney.com, and BusinessWeek. She also blogs about social enterprise for the True/Slant Network and about issues of interest to CFOs for CFOZone.com.

Long-time Registered Rep. columnist Kevin McKinley, a CFP, is the owner of McKinley Money LLC, an independent registered investment advisor. He is also the author of the book Make Your Kid a Millionaire (Simon & Schuster), and provides speaking and consulting services on family financial-planning topics. Kevin began working at a broker/dealer when he was 17. He recently left his firm?after 20 years?to start his own RIA. He serves on the Wisconsin Governor's Council on Financial Literacy, writes a weekly newspaper column, hosts a weekly show on Wisconsin Public Radio and speaks to audiences of both advisors and investors on family financial-planning topics.

C.F. Payne, who illustrated our story about Family Teams, “All In The Family,” on page 43 this month, began his freelance illustrating career in Dallas in 1980. He has won numerous awards over the years for his artwork, which has been featured on the covers of Reader's Digest, Time, The New York Times Book Review, Sports Illustrated, US News & World Report, Boys Life, MAD Magazine and der Spiegel. He has also illustrated numerous children's books and, in 1999, created a mural for the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. C.F. resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife Paula and children.
