UBS hired Ananias (Andy) Blocker as a managing director in its US Office of Public Policy. Blocker is based in Washington, DC and will represent UBS on banking, securities and other financial services issues in Washington.
Dennis Klaeser joined Raymond James as a senior analyst covering Midwest and Western regional banks. Klaeser spent the past six years as CFO of Chicago's Private Bancorp. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as an investment banker and research analyst in the Financial Institutions sector with firms including Robert W. Baird, Arthur Andersen and First Union.
John Hancock Financial Services, the U.S. division of Toronto-based Manulife Financial Corporation, has named James R. Boyle as president. Boyle was previously president of John Hancock's U.S. Insurance division, and prior to that, he was president of the U.S. Wealth Management division.
Stuart Hendel, who headed Morgan Stanley's U.S. prime brokerage, left the company and will be replaced by Alex Ehrlich. Before joining Morgan, Ehrlich was the global head of UBS prime brokerage since 2003.
