Right now, nobody wants to rule the world. That’s because many countries, including the U.S., are preoccupied with their own governments, said Willis Sparks, director of global macro analysis at Eurasia Group.

Panelists at TD Ameritrade Institutional’s annual conference in Orlando, Fla. went around the world, highlighting some of the geopolitical risks facing investors in 2014. Here are five areas to keep an eye on.
