Shirl Penney Hires Former Smith Barney Colleague as Dynasty's Head of Strategic Development

Joseph D’Agostino joins Dynasty from WestEnd Advisors, an institutional asset manager.

Shirl Penney has pulled in a former co-worker from his Smith Barney days to lead Dynasty Financial Partners' strategic development.

Joe D'Agostino, who spent 15 years at Smith Barney, will work out of Dynasty's St. Petersburg, Fla., headquarters, aligning the registered investment advisor’s long-term strategy with its clients and accelerating growth. He will also oversee the Advisor-to-CEO program, a training course and resource for advisors looking to scale their business.

“Having worked with Joe in the past at Citi/Smith Barney, I am delighted to welcome him to Dynasty," Dynasty President and CEO Shirl Penney said. "As an industry veteran with a remarkably diverse and accomplished background, he brings a depth of ultra-high-net-worth client and product wealth management experience to our network advisors.”

Prior to coming to Dynasty, D’Agostino was the chief operating officer at the asset management firm WestEnd Advisors. He has also worked at Morgan Stanley as an advisor and branch manager following the wirehouse’s acquisition of Smith Barney.
