UBS to Eliminate Additional Management Fees on SMAs

UBS said Monday it would be launching a new pricing structure on its strategically managed accounts on Jan. 13, 2020.

In a memo circulated among UBS financial advisors this week, UBS Asset Management President Suni Harford and President of UBS Americas and Co-President of UBS Global Wealth Management Tom Naratil said that the company would be launching a new pricing structure on its strategically managed accounts on Jan. 13, 2020.

According to the memo, select UBS asset management strategies on UBS Wealth Management USA’s ACCESS and strategic wealth portfolio platforms will no longer carry additional SMA management fees.

In addition, by the middle of next year, certain asset management multiasset class strategies, as well as select strategies from any participating third-party managers, will be offered without SMA management fees, according to the memo.

“This is a win for our clients and advisors: we're simplifying SMA client pricing, expanding choice and transparency and aligning our offering with the SEC's Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI),” the memo said.
