Mariner Wealth Advisors Reels In Two Tax Practices

Mariner Wealth Advisors acquires two CPA firms to build out its tax offerings for clients.

Mariner Wealth Advisors has announced its plans to expand its tax offerings to clients with the acquisition of David G. Miller & Associates and G.M. Bremer & Associates.

Mariner, based in Overland, Kan., said the need for tax services was driven by client demand. So it put out help-wanted notices for tax consultants in Cincinnati, Denver, and San Diego. And it spread the word that it was also looking to acquire certified public accountant firms.

The CPA firms give Mariner a presence in Los Angeles and Chatham, N.J. G.M. Bremer & Associates provides tax preparation and planning for businesses and individuals, and IRS and state audit representation in LA. David G. Miller & Associates focuses on income tax, gift and payroll tax preparation for high-net-worth individuals and their families. Both firms will be run by their respective senior leadership and will include additional staff members and seasoned wealth advisors from Mariner.

Mariner Wealth Management was founded in 2006 and has $31 billion in assets under administration, as of September 2019.
