Are they a good place to work?   What are their issues??

their issues are they are a bank run brokerage outfit. That’s a big issue right there. Trust me.

EZ

you need to change your screen name with your new found attitude.

EZ,

I have to admit, I agree with bankrep...if B of A is really that bad, move.  I couldn't be happier with my program, and I here the same from a lot of other folks in the bank channel.

Regardless, such a negative attitude will only hurt your business, no matter what channel you are in.

Why don't you just keep working, start concentrating more on fee based (if the payout isn't great, why do upfront business anyway), then, when you can, make a jump to indy.

Regardless, with all due respect, quit whining!!!

Subtle and funny. Good one.

they are that bad, and i’m going to quit whining. I’ll take their assets and then I’m leaving.

Feb 5, 2006 6:18 pm

From what you were saying before, they seemed to be feeding you alot of new clients now they cut payouts so you make less than before.  My question is are you going to make less going indy? Probably.  Why not stay build assets then leave, I wouldn’t go indy without 5 years of relationships 40/50 million AUM after you - your fixed annuity biz.

Feb 6, 2006 1:10 pm

The referrals are not that great. Yes, better than being on your own, but not as good as I thought. I don’t think I would make less if I went indy. Not going to do it for a couple more years. Have about 25 mill aum. another 12-24 mths. I don’t sweat it because I have good recurring income, and can pay the bills with that alone.

I'd make damn sure before you do it.   I have seen alot of guys think they are going to take 20 mil and take 5.

Feb 6, 2006 1:20 pm

Really? I think i could take half today. 3-5 mill of that fee based. But not today. another year or so. I'll wait to see what the next comp. cut is in Dec. Anymore changes and they'll be leaving in droves, therfore my departure will go unnoticed.

Will you go indy in a few more years? what's your aum, how long in the biz?
