MS cancelled theirs.  Other firms seem to be on or off by district.  Given the markets and the bank problems, is it the right thing to do?

  Thoughts?

We’ve started doing a client-oriented Christmas party, and dropped the office only one. This will be the 2nd year, and it’s a “Thanks for hanging in there” theme this year. Rented one of the upstairs ballrooms at the local civic center, live string quartet, nice buffet, wine/beer/soft drinks, come-and-go. We’ve gotten great RSVP already, and since it’s a client event, no one is second guessing the “appropriateness.” Picked a local charity for clients to bring a gift for, so everyone’s feeling good about it, all the way around.

We’re still going to do a very informal night out for the office staff, but no big party.

Our WacSec market is having ours. Not much of a cut back. Due to the problems with WB  they have been throwing extra funds at the WacSec FA’s and many are doing Client appreciation events this fall.

Ours was cancelled today.  I really could care less as I am quite sure no one there would open an account with me.  Now I have a free evening to do something more productive.

Ooops! ML has cancelled all Xmas parties!

My ML office canceled our Holiday party because of the markets and our stock price.

They could give away ML shares as stocking stuffers. Sorry, I had to do it.

How are they going to afford the stockings?

At our place, all parties or appreciation events cancelled for the next year.
