Most would consider it as a good quality regional firm.  Name recognition (if that's important to you) is weak (unless you're in their historic footprint in the Tennessee area). 

Now that it's no longer an independent company & is part of a large bank (Regions) there's some rumblings about how it's changing under the bank influence and its relative importance in the whole scheme of things.  (Banks always seem to screw up our business when they make an acquisition.)  But, I'd talk with some long-time MK reps and ask them about the real and perceived affect of the bank ownership -- both positive & negative.
