Hi,   I got certified in Series 7 & Series 66 about 2 years ago.  I am currently with H.D. Vest as a Registered Rep.  I am primarily managing my own money with H.D. Vest.  I get to invest in mutual funds Class A without having to pay the commission.  I do not have any other clients of my own. All I want to do is to be able to invest my money in Class A mutual funds without paying the commission.   H.D. Vest in the capacity of Broker / Dealer is charging me about $1,000 a year for expenses such as "Technology fee". some insurance etc.    Let me know if you guys know of a firm where I can operate my own account as a rep for less than $1,000???   Your help is much appreciated.   Thanks

WHy don’t you take the savings from your commissions and use it to pay your technology fees? There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.

Why wouldn't you just use no load funds in an online account?  Save you a thousand a year and some of the 12b-1 fees.

I mean c'mon I'm with EDJ and even I know that there are plenty of great options outside of the "load" world.
