I can’t believe I may be the first to post this, but I am proud to do so:

NY governor linked to prostitution ring

NEW YORK - The New York Times is reporting that Gov. Eliot Spitzer has told senior advisers that he had been involved in a prostitution ring.

On its Web site, the newspaper cites an anonymous administration official as the source and says Spitzer was meeting with his top aides.

Spitzer officials wouldn't immediately comment on the story to The Associated Press. An announcement was scheduled for 2:15 p.m. at his Manhattan office.

My apologies for the jumble.

1% of me is feeling guilt at enjoying the bad fortune of someone else.

The other 99% of me is trying to decide if I want to do a happy dance or just sit here at my desk with a big grin and feel like there is in fact some justice in the world, even for a former attorney general who can generally work/buy off the system.   Karma's a b*tch.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving person.  I about fell out of my chair when I heard about this.  Of all people, he should have kept to the strait and narrow, especially after all the accusations he has made over the years.  Now that he has made his bed…time to sleep in it.

-I wonder if he will indict himself.

The only thing that could have made this better is if the market had a MASSIVE rally at the end of the day to celebrate.  Funny how all of his "crusades" were for the ethics and transparency, yet when he gets busted, this very public figure calls it a personal matter.  I do think this is a personal matter, personally my side hurts from laughing and I pulled a hamstring running to share the joy with others in the office.

CS,

This and the Giants victory over the Pats have made your year, haven't they? Ironic how it all centers around NY.

I feel sorry for Spitzer’s wife and the ex-wife of that other Governor (a year or two ago) who suddenly came out of the closet, declared he was gay, admitted an affair with a male “intern?”, and then resigned.

CNBC showed a short clip of a previous interview with Spitzer, that was filmed the morning after a tryst at the Mayflower Hotel the previous night. And as I'm watching the interview and Spitzer has this big grin on his face, I'm thinking, "Yeah, I know why you're smiling, you dog". (My apologies to dogs everywhere.)

I can’t believe he paid $5,500 for a hoooker. For a 100 bucks he could have been in and out of the VIP room at Scores…

So...would that make you the payer or the payee at Scores?
Mar 11, 2008 9:01 pm

For $5,500 I would gladly be the payee

Obvious improper use of power for a Governor and ex-attorney general.  If he had any mojo he could have had than agency send him women for free…That’s the way they would do it in Chicago…

What did he pay per stroke?  For us Navy guys it would have = $1.00, but you AirForce Guys it would have = $125.34, for you Marines, hell after 10 fingers you give up!  This would be some great writing material for the late night shows for months.

Too bad his wife didn't take the the mic from him and gave her own speach--she could have said something like,  no matter what the Fed's think you can do to him--I will make his life a living hell in our home--don't let him resign--make him do the job you elected him to and everytime he has to face the people of NY, say how much is this going to cost us--I'm getting screwed.   He is toast as Gov of NY.   Go Navy -- Oh yea we've aready bet Army!   Remember today, if you see someone in uniform--thank them for there service and a quick handshake--you would be surprise how uplifting that is to our true protectors!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dobe,

I don't remember his name, but the gay governor you're thinking of was New Jersey's...Not looking good for those types of scandals in my tri-state area!  I hope Fast Eddie Rendell is next!
In his pre mayor days Fast Eddie use to party in a brokerage office in Philly with one of the biggest producers in the city. Or so rumor has it. The broker had um 'kept woman" and would invite the movers and shakers of the day over to his office for behind closed doors "meetings." My understanding is that the tapes have been destroyed. And yes, I'm not not kidding.   The gay gov's name: McGreevey. Along with being gay he was also quite corrupt. And you're going to love this: He is now in Seminary to become a preist while he lives with his millionaire gay lover. Ops, I mean partner. And to top it off he's got a job teaching, are you ready for this, are you sure you're ready, he's teaching ethics to college students at Kean University. Only in NJ, the Soprano state.
Interesting.  You are right in the thick-of-it down there in New Philajerseydelphia?

What did Fast Eddie do before he was mayor of Philly?
On non party days he was the DA.

Bond Guy,

I don't know squat about McGreevey, but I can say with certainty that he is NOT in a Catholic Seminary.  Please double check your source.
