Quick question for the EDJ vets. Approximately what percentage of your current book is MAP/AS, and do you project that percentage to go up significantly over the near term? Trying to get a sense of how these products fit into your book.

is that different than the swith fund families every 4 year based advising?

Hey GoodTimes…American Funds is starting to show in this cycle that maybe they aren’t the fund family they used to be. I think it makes sense to consider adding some Van Kampen to the mix. Maybe Hartford, too, since they’re the speed boat in the ocean. Oh did I mention it’s the last Monday before the second to last Tuesday, so we really need to get this done by 3:00 tomorrow considering the way the market is moving right now.

Hartford is changing upper management. That's a good enough reason to change fund families as any right? I just pull a list of all clients with any Hartford products and get em out quickly huh? It's time to jump a seg! Snappin necks and cashin checks...

I’ve only got around 5 million in MAP, 10 in advisory, and around 10 in C’s.  That’s on a book that is around 130 Million now.  I plan on doubling my advisory over the next couple years. Eventually, I’d like to be around 50-70% of my book wrapped in some manner.  I hope that helps.

rankstocks, thanks for the reply, I’ve been interested in seeing these numbers as well.

You have a hell of a nice book!

I just did that whistle thing people do when you see/hear something impressive . That's a lot of cheese you've earned by just turning on the lights. Nice work!

You earn 1% on the 130 Million and you can afford to put Weddle on hold.   IndyEDJ

I am 3 to 4 years out from my can sell date with about 28 million AUM.

At this point, I do not have any assets in MAP. I do have about $800k

in Advisory Solutions, and see this increasing to 2 million over the

next 6 months. I probably have around $500k to $750k in C Shares.

Unbelievable. Spiff, try defending your nephew after that statement.

It’s a smorgasboard of Mutual Funds, Equities, Muni Bonds, Corp Bonds,

UITS, VA’s and Fixed Annuities. I am a little heavier on VA’s than the

average Jones FA, and am lighter on Mutual Funds than most. I also

do my share of insurance.

interesting

I’ve never had anyone at EJ express any displeasure about the makeup of my book. I did have to answer an FSPend that questioned why my VA business had increased (doubled) in the past year, but my RL told me he had answered an indentical FSPend a while back.
