Miss J
Too late Miss Jones. Someone already posted it yesterday. There’s a whole thread about it.
Most people agreed that it is a bad thing that Cramer endorsed your firm.

Squash. And almost every GP at Jones, right?
Every regional meeting I had thought he was a clown. I think it’s hilarious if they change their tune now!
Squash - lol
No doubt they are in St. Louis bragging about what Cramer has just said while last week calling him an idiot. My practice is tiny so I might be naive but he’s never stopped me from making a trade. I’d just ask the client to call him on the phone real quick and get his opinion on XYZ if they ever brought it up to me.
I went back and reread that thread. I didn’t see anyone on there saying it was bad for Cramer to be endorsing EDJ. In fact, not a single person said that it was bad. There was a pretty general agreement that none of us really want our clients to be tuning into Cramer’s show.
You can't pay for that kind of advertisment. Whether it's from Cramer or not, anyone getting on the public airwaves and telling people that if the firm they work with doesn't take a stand against leveraged ETFs, like EDJ, then they should move their money to a firm like EDJ is just beautiful. I think I'll create a link on my facebook page to that video. The temptation to use this information must be overwhelming, and I applaud our corporate self-control.
At the end of the day, the silence about this on a corporate level will drown out any noise from bashers .... by far. OTOH ... what a condemnation if it becomes fodder for us. "I can resist anything ... except temptation".And we know what kind of track record Jimmy boy has.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo77x4VeoQEDude...you are way off on this one! Whether or not he is a clown when it comes to investing, has nothing to do with the fact that we are happy that a guy with his type of exposure goes on a program that many millions of people watch and says that we are an honest firm that cares for our clients and everyone should follow our lead. You are really showing your bias here and it should make any reader question your credibility when it comes to any comments regarding EDJ!
Who are most people?

that’s crap hka. Bias? With the exception of b24 and volt, you are all biased. Does that mean we shouldn’t listen to your opinions about any other firm. Get real.
Personally, I like Cramer. I also think he made a good point. What I am saying is that all of the Cramer bashing I heard at Jones and here he is a big Jones supporter. Hilarious! Go drink some more hka.
Bias! Hilarious!
While it sounds all warm and fuzzy, neither EDJ or any other firm bans sales of a product only to protect the client. The primary reason is to protect themselves. In this case they even got some free publicity.

Bias! Hilarious!
I think you misunderstood. Your bias is against Jones..not about "any other firm"...you're right, being that i'm a "kool-aid drinker"...if I talk about Jones being so great, or better than any other firm (which if you check my posts, I don't)...than you shouldn't listen to me! Just like when you speak against Jones...like bspears et al, we should be taking your comments with a grain of salt! And also on another note, you think B24 isn't biased??? I think you mean Borker???
Raymond James banned them weeks ago. Once again, like with managed mutual fund platforms, Jones is only following the lead of a superior organization.
I almost puked when I saw Mad Money yesterday. Literally, I felt sick to my stomach. I have never used any of those crappy ETF’s for my clients, and I never will. And I didn’t need the mothership to tell me how bad they are for long term investors. My level of respect for Cramer is now at an all time low level.

No, I meant B24. Borker is biased against Jones. B24 will actually look at both sides.
And I think you are way off. Did you not see my entire THREAD about wirehouse guys. I’ve bashed Merril, MSSB, banks. I’m equal opportunity.
