California Court Dismisses EJ

Once oral arguments were heard, the court dismissed the case.
The California AG has the ability to still appeal (And who knows with that guy), but basically all those who were so may have to go back to finding other ways to bash the firm.
Hey that is great news. When did this happen? I didn’t see any mention in the 10-K that was submitted on March 31st?
found it in the 10-K report, but I can’t find any confirmation in the press on-line. Any chance proudlp that you could post a link or an article that confirms your firm’s alleged dismissal?
Jones made the announcement internally. And since we’re the last to know anything, I’m shocked you can’t find anything online. Unless of course the press only likes to report negative news. Nah, I’m sure he’s just a liar.
Let's see:
They report it in the 10-k, they announce it internally why isn't your PR department working overtime to get such an announcement in the press.
There isn't a follow-up to be found in The WSJ, the California AG's website, nor anywhere on Google ....... I'm not suggesting proudlp is a liar it's just there doesn't seem to be any corroboration regarding the claim. Heaven forbid your new managing GP ever sign for smething that isn't true (part of the reason why jimbo is the new managing jeep, but since your kept in the dark you won't know about that either)

Proudlp...sorry to report. The suit against AMERICAN FUNDS was dropped, but appealed. The suit against JONES is still very much on. Your firm has mis-informed you, because of the status of lp.
...This gets better and better...
OK, guys and girls, who's right here? Anybody got any official links, etc.?
I'd be careful how much I believed from anyone in upper management...it's not like they don't have an agenda, or anything. Ultimately, it's all about how much $$$ you can make for them. If you think otherwise, you belong right where you are.
Indyone – I pulled this off the 10-k from Hoover’s that someone else posted…
In addition to the foregoing civil class action litigation, the California
Attorney General has commenced a civil action against the Partnership on
essentially the same allegations present in the civil class actions. On
December 20, 2004, the California Attorney General filed: People of the
State of California vs. Edward D. Jones & Co., L.P. in the Superior Court
for Sacramento, California. The California Attorney General alleges that EDJ
violated Sections 25401 and 2516(a) of the California Corporations Code by
failing to adequately disclose to California resident customers purchasing
mutual fund shares, the Partnership’s revenue sharing arrangements. The
Complaint seeks unspecified damages, attorney’s fees, injunctive relief and
a civil monetary penalty of $25,000 for each alleged violation of the
Corporations Code. The Partnership has filed a Motion for Judgment on the
Pleadings asserting that the lawsuit is preempted by federal regulations.
The Court granted the motion to dismiss the lawsuit with leave for the
Attorney General to amend it.
Very good...looks like a dismissal to me. Maybe Bill Singer will be so kind as to interpret the dismissal, as the dismissal appears to me to leave the door open for the AG.
What say the anti-Jones gang?!!
