I've been with an Ameriprise Franchise for about 1 year.  It isn't going as well as I'd have hoped.  I can't cold call/knock and I"m not sure what their mass prospecting strategy is.  I"m looking at a bnk opportunity, and wanted opinions on what is the best.  Does anyone have experience with Wells, BB&T, M&T, Chase, or Capital One?  Is the bank brokerage route the best way to get started for a relative new guy?  I couldn't get on with Wells as an FA, but woudl be a licensed banker, in hopes of becoming an FA at some point, but I can deal with that.

I'd rather have sex with Rosie than go back to working as a licensed banker at Wells. It's AWFUL. Don;t be fooled, they don't want you doing brokerage business. They want you churning as many checking accounts as humanly possible. "What's that? You brought in a $1MM relationship today? Well exactly how many savings accounts did you package?None. Well you're going to need to call them back and get a DDA or 3 out of this."

A-W-F-U-L.  Do. Not. Do. It.
