Just looking for any information, good or bad, on this firm from people that may have experience with them.

As an OSJ/Rep with Multi Financial since ING merged my former firm (IFG Network Securities) with them back in 2004, I’d say I have had a front row seat from which to evaluate this firm.  That includes an internal transition from IFG to Multi, a leadership change, and the outright purchase of our firm and two others from ING by Lightyear Capital in late 2009/early 2010.  The Cliff’s Notes version is that they have been a great partner for us.  Not every advisor needs or wants a personal relationship with the folks at the broker dealer but that is very important in our model and that is truly where Multi shines, from firm president Brett Harrison on down.  Equally as great is the camaraderie and helpful attitudes of the other top advisors with Multi across the country, who have always been willing to share their best ideas with everyone.  It’s kind of like being part of a great fraternity of high level advisors, executive leadership and home office personnel.  Add in the management and support team at Cetera, the holding company for the three broker dealer family that Multi is part of, and you’ve got the best of all worlds:  the freedom of an independent entrepreneur with a smaller, personal BD, with the support of a major player in the financial services industry behind you.  I’d be happy to answer specific questions you might have about my experience over the years if you’d like by reaching out to me at [email protected] or by phone at 225-612-3820.  If not, I certainly understand and hope these comments are useful to you in your search.  If you are making a list of firms to look at, these guys should be in your top three to interview, plain and simple.

It is an upgrade.

I am an advisor that manages an OSJ that recruits, so I see the rest of the competitors.  I recognize that the aspects most valued differs by advisor.  The one thing that does not differ is character of leadership, consistent excution and commitment to improvement.

Multi is big on Professional Fraternity.  The leadership promotes best practice sharing and has initiated a slew of new programs that started with a revolutionary concept - they listened, understood and set out to make improvement.

The best measurements are the fierce loyalty of mt peers at Multi Financial (extraordinary retention rate) and the growth of new advisors that chose Multi from the competiton.

If I or my peers can help you in making an informed decision, feel free to e-mail [email protected] or call 800-344-7285.

I would say start out by looking at their broker check report on FINRA's website. Never really heard too much negative things about them.
