Dirk does not manage money he spends his time making up stories about managing money.  He is probably and IT guy or engineer who can't wait to quit his crappy job because his boss treats him like dirt , but is not aloud because his wife won't let him.
You're right. I don't manage money. I place money. I get paid 7.5% of every dollar that I place. It's pretty easy with this track record.

So what we have here is annuity only guy bashing a bank guy? Let me guess, every dime goes to the JNL contract, right? Just how is that something a bank guy couldn't do, as you've said? One of the hits bank guys take is that they shove people into annuities. (not making a judgment call here, just mentioning the seterotype)

It’s a KU thing.  Phog Allen - former KU coach and namesake for Allen Fieldhouse on campus.  Served as coach for 30+ years and is a Hall of Famer, if I’m not mistaken.

It's a KU thing.  Phog Allen was a legendary coach at KU.

I took the offer from Smith Barney today.  Thanks for the feedback.  Glad to see some Jayhawks out there!

Or maybe he can transfer internally to Primerica if things don't work out.

Got me there, Blarm.

Actually, those wins were just to get you over-confident for 2006 when we actually really want to win the thing.  If we won the thing too often people would hate Duke more than they already do, so we have to pace ourselves and share the glory.

Now if you believe that, I've got this bridge in NYC....

Jan 6, 2006 6:34 pm

Hahaha… Iused to see that bridge from my apartment back in the day… That game will be one for the ages, provided Memphis, Illinois, or Villanova dont step up and take on of us down…

Hi

Quick Question: A few of you mentioned various training programs and salaries offered during training or prior to production.

Anyone know what the salary number is? Albeit temporary and doesn't make much difference in the long run, I'm wondering what different firms are offering.

I'm new and about to enter the industry. Talking too much about salary I'd say is similiar to asking "how much vacation do I get", etc and those aren't things you ask! Wrong Questions!

I've heard numbers between $24K-35K.   Anybody have anything to add?

Thanks from a newbie.
I’m very happy at UBS…just wrapped up the training program and my first month of production.
Welcome newbie, things can go downhill there real fast.  Wait til next Jan bonus time, you’ll be cussing them out.

Here at UBS, I’ve been here almost 2 yrs, pressure pressure pressure, sure everywhere does that… but the pay stunk for all the pain you go to get teh big fish and they keep raising quotas.

To drive up productivity, they keep hiring new reps and make all the false promises to keep people working as fools.

I’ll be outta there next month…

Just remember, they are the Swiss and you’re just an American.
