MSSB Training

I talked with a MS guy and he said when he started they shipped them to NY for a month for training. I doubt this is the case now but other than going through the prereq exams and passing them what is the rest of the training like? Do you travel to NY or NJ for any training or is it online? Or does that not exist anymore and everything is done within branches?
I am on the SB side. You do to NJ for 2 weeks during your first four month of training. Then if you qualify you go for a week your second year and a week your third year. It’s only two straight weeks. The vets here tell me it used to be 6 straight weeks.
It’s not final yet but if I get hired it would be on the SB side. So I would go to NJ within the first few months for 2 weeks. That’s pretty cool…I bet you learn a lot of valuable information. I think you are right though it used to be a month or so. I think MS people went to Manhattan for a month or so back in the day. Thanks for the response.
was 3 weeks in Tower 2 of the World Trade Center back in the day. The training was mediocre but the partying was great.
Yeah I hear the partying is great, even in Warren, NJ where you go now. Of course you go to the city for it on the weekend you’re up there.
Everyone I talk to tells me the stories of how it is like one big frat party. I'm heading up next week for my 2 weeks so when I get back I'll give you the scoop and the crazy stories, haha.Things get pretty crazy for the Jones Guys at KYC. THAT was funny!
So I start next Monday…no mention of any traveling so far. They have indicated that they just aren’t sure what the program will look like because they are confident that there will be at least a few changes during my four month training. I have heard of some performance based training where if you are in the top tier than they reward you with some additonal training back east…
I got the offer…I start Monday…they said little under 3 weeks in NJ at the end of all the exams and licenses.

Is the MSSB “offer” presented in a take-it-or-leave-it format? Or, is it negotiable?
Vacation?? I’m not familiar with that word! Actually, the question was about the amount of salary offered.
Between all the training and traveling to NJ I don’t think anyone can take a vacation for at least 6 months to a year. Then after all the training and the exams you have to produce 480,000 in assets within the first three months of production. SO taking a vacation is putting yourself in a major disadvantage with the potential for losing your job. If you don’t hit certain numbers in production your on the street so unless you hit a huge account that sets you up for the year over 10 mil…then you aren’t taking a vacation from my understanding.

Dude - that was hilarious!
Probably not, especially if you aren't bringing anything to the table(exisiting book, huge network) even then, they are going to overpay for a prospector(especially when only 20% make it).Vacation?? I’m not familiar with that word! Actually, the question was about the amount of salary offered.
