i have looked at them and I really like their technology, but I haven’t opened any accounts with them.

Mike Patton over at IA Mag uses them and if you email him he will repond pretty quickly. He has blog on the IA site that is worth reading also.

Pattons’ blog is worthwhile only to the extent that it should serve as a model how NOT to go independent, unless your first priority is to become a journalist and speaker. If you want to be an RIA, don’t waste your time reading his blog.

He’s not that bad.

He does plan out way more than a typical ex-wire guy may, But he does still run into the same stupid cr*& we all run into. And he is much more focused on the planning side.

I confess I stopped reading his blog long ago, shortly after he started writing about struggling to decide what fee structure to use and what exact services to offer clients, and how he produced his first plan for his first client … and this was months AFTER he was supposedly “in business.”

It is just so backwards from the way most established folks go about it that I found it absurd and ridiculous.

I agree - I def get the impression he had some cash to sit on while he started his practice. My wife would have killed me if it took me that long to get my first client!
