There seems to be a large group of people on here that think that going Indy is the way to go.  Today, I was presented with an opportunity with a friend that has a thriving insurance business, to partner with him and handle the investment side.  He is not registered, so he doesn’t do any VA business at all.  I would have full access to his current clients and his support in the introductions etc.  The preliminary arrangement is that I would have 100% payout on the VA’s and he would split health and life that I produced with me 50/50.  I was curious if you guys think this is a good deal, and any good resources for starting an independent shop.  I am currently with a wirehouse, and this seemed like a good opportunity.

Sounds pretty good to me.

Indy,

I have seen your posts on here for a long time and respect your opinion. Is there a platform that you would reccomend? I would also appreciate any resources I can use to learn how to get an Indy shop started.
