Hi everyone,

I am looking for a ranking..or articles on...LPL and where they rank in the independent world, etc (assets/advisors/revenue).  I had seen them ad nausem while i was being recruited over to LPL, but I cannot seem to find any of them online.  Any help...or links to those articles would be greatly appreciated!!   Pin

They’re a great firm. They let joedabrkr and indyone gouge people out of their money, with impunity.

Pin,
How important are those measures to an individual FA anyway?  Is size all that matters to you (insert your choice of off color joke here)?

I saw an article recentlly that I think was in registered rep that shows LPL as number 1 in assets and number of reps. You might check the website  to be sure.

Thanks IndyOne and Indy4.  That was what I was needing!!! Morph, its not for me…but for a prospect…yes I am finally back to PROSPECTING  (WOOO HOOOO)…that had never heard of LPL.   I used those to show them the power/support/strength behind the broker.  As for size…all in all it probably does not matter…just ask my wife!!!

******ONE MORE THING.......clients above signed the transfer forms today..and is it me or is transferring stuff from Ameriprise a total frickin' nightmare?!?!?!?!?  Every damn mutual fund has its own account number...rather than a general account number with mutual funds inside the account.  Some were of the assets were ACAT eligible...but all RiverSource funds had to be liquidated, each with a seperate form.  What a total mess!

Nothing better than self deprecating humor … or is it self defecating?!

This is what I tell clients is the AMP "Berlin Wall strategy."  If you know what you have sucks and everyone is dying to escape, you either have to make people want to stay or you make leaving very difficult.  Guess which strategy AMP has used?   As a client of theirs, sooner or later you have to just hold your breath and jump the wall, or accept being a hostage forever.

Pin, you need to explain that most LPL advisors use their own brand, rather than promote the company.  that's simply the nature of independent shops.  Of the firms in the graphic I supplied, I believe that LPL is the only firm that allows it's reps to private label, although Ameriprise may allow that on the independent platform...I'm not sure.
