Local Business

Most of my business is local. I'm thinking about a cold calling campaign to areas I have no connection. I can buy a list of millionaires from any zip.
Have you guys had any luck with this type of approach?
I made this call to the Seattle are and I got the 55 year old man on the phone. He worked for MSFT. He said he was worried and wasn’t sure what to do but he liked income but wasn’t so sure about bonds. I said well Mr. How does 13% income sound while we wait for the price of the fund to comeback. It has a low expense ratio, gives you some down side protection with and good upside potentional. He said he would be interested in it. I told him if you can afford it put 100k now to get the break points and put in another2,000 per month for the next year and let these pros work their magic.

Man calling out of state is great.[/quote]This type of selling is sad. A 5 minute phone call, I'm sure you really knew whether the product was suitable for the investor. Brokers who make their living doing this make me sick, quite frankly.

I have to agree with others, be careful with this strategy. Sounds like you are guaranteeing a return. The regulators hate the implication and the last thing you need is a complaint. Additionally I hope you will do the necessary background to "Know Your Client." Also remember you need to make sure you are register yourself in a the state you are doing business in.
Good Luck
