Lock, good luck man! When the dust settles I'd love to give you a call and see how things are going and what you learned. I'll be in your shoes at somepoint and want to do it right!
"my regional leadership and St. Louis were extremely amicable and asked that I consider coming back at some point".
same here- they sent me "the letter" of course but never followed up. All are still friendly.
I’m glad the transition has been good thus far and I wish you well going forward. At the same time, even though you are enjoying your new-found freedom, I would still reconsider using your real name here. If they decide they don’t like how things are unfolding it’s always possible that they could use what you post here against you.
I appreciate that, IndyOne, but I'd add that if you never do something you are ashamed of or is patently wrong ... you have nothing to hide. Right? Volt, you can contact me anytime. Rock on, guys.
I agree with you both and would like to add...
You have made the transition, congratulations. But a judge may not agree with your thoughts and a room full of lawyers can be compensated to take your statements out of context. In my opinion, I would leave the name and its last post here and begin anew. LockEDJ is no more...
Best of luck to you going forward.
Locked...have you considered Unlocked as your new name?
I think your situation will be very interesting to watch for all those I love Joneser's. Here is a situation where you are leaving on good terms. I'll take odds they won't act like it. Let us know in a month or so after everything has calmed down.
I'm laying odds that things are all rosy until you transfer a significan number of accounts to your new firm. If you never see their backsides through this whole process, I'll be surprised, but happy for you.
Congrats....the only clients you will lose will be the clients that consume most of your time and make up a fraction of your income. Welcome to the other side. It is a beautiful place!
I highly recommend you not post here or anywhere until after this is all done and over. You would be suprised what they can harvest looking at personal and business websites. You should Google your name, all alias names, all email addresses, street addresses, etc that you have ever used and I bet you will be shocked what all comes up without searching very hard.
I would rather you come back in a couple months and share the good stories and not a bunch of should'a, could'a, would'a stories.
I probably would just recommend you delete all posts and on all sites that reference you and this move period. I hope I am wrong but it will cost you more if you are wrong.
Nice work on leaving Jones! You'll never regret it and your life will improve in ways you never thought possible. However, the next three months will be miserable and you'll have the same conversations 20+ times a day. Stay focused and positive. After all the hassle things will quite down and you'll be able to get back to actual work.
how is it going? I just left Edward Jones Friday. I'm in the half panicked, half giddy stage.

How can Edward Jones know who you are based upon a screen name?

You didn't see what he originally posted...and that's a good thing. Hopefully no one in St. Louis did either.
