Hey!  I am just doing a poll to see how various 401k platforms stack up.  My wire doesn’t have some of the bigger names like Principal, Great-West, and many others.  Can you list off the providers you have and give a ballpark number of total providers to choose from?

If you don't have a provider available in your platform, it it pretty easy to get Rayjay, LPL or others to get a selling agreement setup?

Take a look at WisdomTree 401(k). You get wisdom tree etfs and you can add other etfs and mutual funds.

I’ll second Akkula’s question… Principal seems to have big marketshare in small plans, $1-$5mm.  Any indies (especially LPL) have experience taking over these plans in two steps…

1) sign on a broker of record in Principal plan, then 2) upgrade to another plan providers platform?

I like Oppenheimer and Lord Abbett for small, inexpensive plans, American and Hartford for big plans, Fidelity if the client is blinded by “free” plans and their name (you know what I mean).

John Hancock and Hartford are very good if you need a big plan with all the bells and whistles.
