I need to master the basics of selling. I don't really know, however, what those basics are exactly. For closing, I know that you must ask for the order, and sound enthusiastic, and shut up after asking a closing question. That's about it. I've tried reading sales books, but I suddenly realized today that the books are written by sales professionals who are aiming the book towards other sales professionals. My past experience in sales is light. I haven't checked it out, but isn't there a sales for dummies book? I'm certain that if I could just get a good dose of intensive training in sales basics, I would become much better at selling. Books like "Mastering the Art of Sales" aren't at my level. I'm really at the bottom trying to pick up whatever I can. Anyone know a good place to start?

I’m not Rick.  When it comes to financial services, he has some brilliant things to say.  Just don’t go to his site if you don’t have thick skin.
