I am in a medium size town and have been prospecting business owners.   I make about 200-300 dials a day, and get about 20 contacts in per day.  I either ask if they are investors and interested in good investment ideas or if they are happy about their retirement accounts and if not would they like a free packet of information.   Then I send a packet or my business card with a thank you note, and follow up in a couple weeks.  I have been wondering if I should add in a couple hours a day of doorknocking to residents, or is the dialing business owner sufficient.   Any suggestions are welcome.

And how is it going so far?  Have you been successful in opening accounts?  How long have you been doing it?

I am a couple months in.  Have a couple accounts open, and about 100 leads (people who are ok with me continuing to call them back).  I get about 2 - 3 people a day who say they are intrested.

That's seems to be fairly working.. One question though, how did you go about getting those numbers? Did the company you work for provide those leads for you? I am specifically looking to prospect small business owners
